Yasuhiko Kimura is an integral philosopher, writer, and lecturer. He is widely recognized for his unique ability to integrate advanced Western thought with the intuitive sensibilities of Eastern spiritual traditions. Originally from Japan, Kimura was ordained as a Buddhist priest in the Soto school of Zen at the age of twenty-one. He traveled to India to further his study of Eastern philosophy and religion, eventually moving to the United States to pursue his work in the integration of spiritual philosophy and physical science.

The author of Think Kosmically Act Globally, Kimura is passionate about evolution and human development, and is keenly aware of the urgent life conditions we face across the globe. He is the founder and chairman of Vision-In-Action, a public benefit corporation whose mission is to promote original thinking as a comprehensive and creative approach to restore wholeness and integrity to our deeply divided world.

His books include The Book of Balance, an acclaimed translation of Lao Tzu's Tao Teh Ching, Think Kosmically Act Globally, a collection of essays, and The Twilight Manifesto. He has published numerous essays and translations on spiritual transformation, integral philosophy, transformational ethics, philosophy of science, business strategy, and planetary ethics. He is also the editor-in-chief of VIA: The Journal of Integral Thinking for Visionary Action published by Vision-In-Action.

Before founding Vision-In-Action, Kimura served as executive director of the Twilight Club, originally founded by Herbert Spencer, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Walt Whitman, Mark Twain, Andrew Carnegie, and other New Thought–Transcendentalist thinkers. He also served as the executive director of the Walter Russell Foundation, dedicated to the integration of science and spirituality and to the global awakening of higher consciousness. He lives and works as a private business consultant in southern California.
