Mary Adams is EnlightenNext’s retreat director. A spiritual practitioner for thirty-four years, Adams is one of EnlightenNext founder Andrew Cohen’s first students. After graduating from Australian National University with a degree in Asian philosophy and language, she lived in India for several years, studying with some of the most revered teachers of the twentieth century, including Nisargadatta Maharaj and J. Krishnamurti. She later moved to England where she cofounded an international retreat facility and became a practicing psychotherapist. Adams met Cohen in 1986 and moved to the U.S. in 1988 to join Cohen as one of the founding members of the spiritual community that eventually became EnlightenNext. Over the past two decades she has played many roles at EnlightenNext, including cofounding the first London center and supporting the establishment of centers in Europe, the U.S., and Australia. She was also codirector of EnlightenNext’s international speakers series Voices from the Edge. Passionate about the potential for this work to bring about real change in the world today, Adams gives public talks and leads seminars on Evolutionary Enlightenment in the U.S. and abroad.
